On 20 April we host this free webinar on how to efficiently design and analyse coupled motion and marine dynamic systems.

Under the current challenging market situation, offshore projects need even more efficient analysis and accurate simulation to gain better control of budget and risk management. In addition, the offshore industry is looking for new opportunities in more generic offshore applications such as renewable energy and aquaculture. Offshore engineers are also trying to transfer their knowledge to these new areas, by for example using the mooring/riser design knowledge to simulate fishnet dynamics.

For years, DNV GL - Software and SINTEF Ocean have developed Sesam for Marine Systems for coupled motion calculation and marine dynamic system design to face the latest challenges. New functionalities include simulation of wind turbine aerodynamics and fishnet calculation. A core tool in this package is Sesam’s Sima.

Agenda: 

  • Coupled analysis of floating offshore structures, e.g. Semi, FPSO, Spar, etc.
  • Mooring system simulation and calculation
  • Riser and umbilical calculation, e.g. SCRs and complex risers
  • Pipelaying analysis
  • Thruster and dynamic positioning simulation
  • Examples for floating OWT and complex fishnet/cage

Your presenters from DNV GL and SINTEF Ocean will be:  

Dr Fan Joe Zhang, Product Manager, Marine Dynamics, DNV GL - Software: Dr Zhang has been working with software for offshore floating structures and the marine dynamic systems industry for 10 years. He has extensive experience in the areas of floating offshore structure, mooring and riser analysis, as well as offshore wind turbine foundation design and marine operations.

Andreas Amundsen, Software Manager, SINTEF Ocean: Mr. Amundsen has been working as a developer and project manager for SINTEF Ocean (previously MARINTEK) for five years and has a background in finite element analysis. He has experience from analysis of risers, umbilicals and mooring analysis in addition to offshore wind turbine foundation analysis.
